Deborah Weymouth Named President and CEO of Waterbury HEALTH
WATERBURY, Conn. – Feb. 13, 2024 – Deborah Weymouth, currently serving as the CEO for Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN), was named President and CEO for Prospect Medical Holdings Connecticut operations, including Waterbury HEALTH. Weymouth assumed the Waterbury HEALTH President and CEO role on Feb. 9 following Dr. Justin Lundbye’s announcement that he is leaving the organization, effective March 8, to become President of Good Samaritan Hospital in Long Island, New York.
Prospect Medical Holdings Connecticut includes Waterbury Hospital, ECHN’s Manchester Memorial Hospital and Rockville General Hospital.
Weymouth, who has served as CEO of ECHN since October 2019, has extensive experience in healthcare. Prior to joining ECHN, she led a three-hospital UMass Memorial Healthcare system, where she oversaw enhancements in healthcare quality, access, and technological innovation, while prioritizing safety measures to elevate patient experience. She is committed to expanding healthcare services equitably, fostering a culture of wellness and prevention, and partnering with community organizations to promote health education.

I am committed to ensuring every patient receives the highest quality of care, and strengthening our connections with the community we serve,” Weymouth said.
Dr. Lundbye joined Waterbury HEALTH as Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) in December 2016. He was named CEO in October 2021. In his role as CEO, he helped shepherd the organization through the challenges facing the world of healthcare following the COVID-19 pandemic. He also led the implementation of new technology at Waterbury Hospital, such as a hybrid operating room, as well as new services for patients including sophisticated cardiac procedures such as TAVR (transaortic valve replacement) and Watchman.
As CEO, Dr. Lundbye also contributed to the community, serving as the 2022-2023 United Way of Greater Waterbury Campaign Chair and as a member of the Waterbury Regional Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He is the recipient of the 2020 Waterbury Regional Chamber of Commerce Healthcare Council Leadership Award for his contributions to Waterbury HEALTH and the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
