Waterbury Hospital Auxiliary
The Waterbury Hospital Auxiliary, Inc. is a non-profit organization that promotes the health and well-being of our community in partnership with Waterbury Hospital and other community organizations.
The oldest of its kind in Connecticut, the Auxiliary was created soon after Waterbury Hospital opened its doors.
“To give aid to the Hospital by furnishing clothing, bedding, delicacies, papers, books, pictures and other needed articles.”
For more than 125 years, the Auxiliary has supported the hospital, our patients, and our community –and we continue to do so today. Traditionally, the Auxiliary focused primarily on the hospital, but now we are working in concert with Waterbury Hospital to support initiatives and organizations that share our goal of improving the health and quality of life of our community.
Events sponsored by the Auxiliary benefit community-minded organizations such as Girls Inc. and Easterseals of Greater Waterbury.
Since 1990 the Auxiliary has provided scholarships to students in the community pursuing health related education. We proudly continue this tradition with two scholarships given annually to Wilby High School students.
The Auxiliary also raises funds from the Gift Shop at Waterbury Hospital, baby photography, an Art Corridor displaying art from local artist. The auxiliary also sponsors special programs for children such as the “Teddy Bear” project though which plush toys are donated to children coming to the hospital for tests and procedures and knitted gifts for newborns at the Waterbury Hospital Family Birthing Center.

The Waterbury Hospital Auxiliary raises funds to award scholarships to area students who are pursuing a health-related profession and support local health initiatives.

Simply fill out the membership application and return the form along with the selected membership dues. You may mail your form and check to:

If you are in need of emergency funds, please complete the request form below. Please be sure to answer all questions as detailed as possible. Once completed, please email the form to: whauxiliaryevents@gmail.com or place in a sealed envelope and drop off at the hospital Gift Shop.
